Personal Information — any information about you that directly or indirectly identifies you or makes you identifiable.
Anonymous Information — information that cannot reasonably identify an individual. When combined with Personal Information, it is treated as Personal Information.
Aggregate Information — statistical data about groups of members that cannot identify any individual.
Usage Data — information collected automatically when you use the Platform, including IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages visited, session duration, and time of access.
User Content — any text, images, links, or other material posted by you in member forums, chat rooms, or other interactive areas of the Platform.
URNow Foundation / we / us / our — URNow Foundation, a private foundation registered in the Cook Islands under the Foundations Act 2012, Registration# FA15503/2024.
Platform — the urnow.org website, member portal, and all related subdomains and successor sites.
The entity responsible for managing data collected through your use of the Platform is URNow Foundation, a private foundation registered in the Cook Islands under the Foundations Act 2012, Registration# FA15503/2024. For all privacy-related inquiries: support@urnow.org.
Information you provide directly:
- Account Information: Full name, username, email address, and encrypted password at registration.
- Identity & Agreement Records: IP address, timestamp, and digital signature captured at registration as legal evidence of your consent. These records are retained indefinitely.
- Transaction Information: Membership tier, payment transaction IDs, and donation records. We do not store cryptocurrency wallet keys, card numbers, or financial credentials — all payments are processed entirely by NowPayments.
- User Content: Any content you post in member forums, chat rooms, or interactive areas of the Platform.
- Communications: Messages you send us via the contact form or email, retained for support and legal purposes.
Information collected automatically:
- Usage Data: Session activity, browser type, device type, IP address, and pages visited, collected via server logs and session cookies to maintain security and improve the Platform.
- System Logs: For operation and maintenance purposes, the Platform may collect files that record interactions or use data such as IP address for maintenance purposes.
We do not collect government-issued ID numbers, biometric data, sensitive financial account information, or location data. We do not use advertising trackers, behavioral profiling, or third-party analytics platforms.
We collect information directly from you when you register, make a payment, post content in member areas, submit the contact form, or otherwise interact with the Platform. We also collect limited technical data automatically through session cookies and server logs. We may receive information from NowPayments solely to confirm payment transactions.
The Platform uses session cookies solely to maintain your logged-in state. These cookies are temporary and deleted when you close your browser or sign out. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, behavioral targeting, or third-party analytics tools. We do not engage in cross-site tracking of any kind.
- Account management: Processing your registration, maintaining your member account, and providing access to membership features including forums and chat rooms.
- Payment processing: Facilitating membership payments and donations via NowPayments.
- Account security & fraud prevention: Verifying identity, detecting fraudulent activity, and protecting member accounts.
- Communications: Sending account-related notices including password resets, membership confirmations, and material policy updates.
- Legal compliance & enforcement: Maintaining digital signature records, agreement logs, and User Content records as required for legal enforceability.
- Platform improvement: Analyzing aggregate, non-identifying usage data to improve the security and functionality of the Platform.
- Legal action: Your Personal Information may be used for legal purposes in proceedings arising from misuse of the Platform. You acknowledge that the Foundation may be required to disclose Personal Information upon request of competent authorities under Cook Islands law.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your Personal Information with third parties for marketing, advertising, or commercial purposes.
The private member forum and chat features are interactive spaces where members may post User Content. You acknowledge and agree that:
- User Content you post may be visible to other registered members of that tier or feature;
- You are solely responsible for any User Content you post;
- URNow Foundation does not pre-screen User Content but reserves the right to monitor, remove, or moderate any User Content at its sole discretion;
- URNow Foundation is not responsible for User Content posted by other members. The views and statements in member forums do not represent the views or positions of URNow Foundation;
- By posting User Content, you grant URNow Foundation a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to display and store that content for the purposes of operating the Platform.
The Platform may provide access to information, articles, videos, or links from third parties. URNow Foundation undertakes reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy but cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of third-party content. URNow Foundation is not responsible for the content or practices of any third-party website or resource. Access to external resources is at your own risk.
- Payment processing: Transaction data is shared with NowPayments solely to process payments.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by a valid order of the Cook Islands High Court. We will make every reasonable effort to notify affected members of any such inquiry unless prohibited by court order.
- Fraud prevention & legal action: We may share information with law enforcement where we have reasonable grounds to believe fraudulent or unlawful conduct has occurred.
- Service providers: Limited data may be shared with trusted technical service providers (such as hosting providers) solely for operating the Platform. Such providers are bound by confidentiality obligations.
- Business transfers: In the event of dissolution or transfer of Foundation activities, member data may transfer to a successor entity with reasonable notice to members.
- Right to access: Request a copy of the Personal Information we hold about you.
- Right to correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Right to deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data within 30 days, except for records required to be retained by law.
- Right to object: Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Right to data portability: Request your data in a portable format.
- Right not to be discriminated against: We will not deny services or provide reduced service for exercising any privacy right.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@urnow.org. We will respond within 30 days and may request identity verification before processing your request.
We implement appropriate physical, electronic, and operational safeguards including encrypted password storage, HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, and restricted database access. We regularly review our security practices. In the event of a data breach affecting your Personal Information, we will notify affected members promptly and take all reasonable remediation steps.
- Account data: retained for the life of the account, deleted within 30 days of closure upon request;
- Digital signature and agreement records: retained indefinitely as legal evidence of consent;
- Transaction records: retained for a minimum of 7 years for financial record-keeping;
- User Content posted in forums: may be retained after account closure where removal would disrupt forum integrity;
- System logs: retained for up to 12 months for security purposes.
The Platform is restricted to individuals 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from anyone under 18. If you become aware that a minor has registered, contact us at support@urnow.org and we will delete the account and associated data promptly.
This Privacy Policy is governed exclusively by the laws of the Cook Islands. Pursuant to the Cook Islands Foundations Act 2012, any dispute arising under this Privacy Policy is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Cook Islands High Court. Foreign laws shall not apply to invalidate this Privacy Policy or the Foundation's data practices.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered members of material changes by email at least 14 days before changes take effect. Continued use of the Platform after notification constitutes acceptance. This Privacy Policy supersedes all previously published versions.
